Amaranth Fibers

At Nans Products Group, we specialize in manufacturing and exporting high-quality amaranth fibers. Leveraging traditional Indian agriculture, we meet diverse industrial needs with our innovative approach to fiber production.

Amaranth Fibers: High-quality, dietary fiber from amaranth grain.

Fiber Pharmacology
Soluble fibers slow the passage of food through the digestive system, which helps regulate blood cholesterol and glucose levels. This makes high-fiber foods, such as amaranth, ideal for diabetics and those aiming to maintain a balanced diet.

Specifications Sheet

  • Description: Dietary fiber from amaranth grain, coarse light brown colored powder.
  • Ingredients: 100% cell wall material from citrous amaranth grain, with a major portion of insoluble fibers.

What Are Fibers?

Food fibers are plant-based components that are not digested when consumed. They play a crucial role in promoting health by potentially lowering cholesterol, reducing the risk of heart disease, aiding in cancer prevention, and assisting in diabetes management. There are two main types of fiber:

  • Insoluble Fibers: These include cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, often referred to as "roughage." Insoluble fibers promote digestive regularity by adding bulk and softness to the stool, preventing constipation, and speeding up the passage of food through the digestive system. Common sources are whole grains, vegetables, and fruit skins.
  • Soluble Fibers: These fibers form gels in water, aiding in the formation of softer stools. Soluble fibers, such as gums, pectins, and mucilages, help regulate cholesterol and glucose levels by slowing down the digestive process. They are found in oats, beans, peas, rice bran, citrus fruits, strawberries, and apple pulp.

Benefits of Amaranth Fiber

Amaranth fiber combines the benefits of both soluble and insoluble fibers. In the colon, it acts like cellulose, neither decreasing pH nor increasing cecal surface area. This dual action helps lower serum cholesterol like soluble fibers while promoting digestive health like insoluble fibers.

Key Benefits:

  • Digestive Health: Promotes regularity and prevents constipation.
  • Cholesterol Management: Helps reduce serum cholesterol levels.
  • Blood Sugar Control: Low glycemic index suitable for diabetics.
  • Weight Management: High fiber content aids in maintaining a healthy weight.
  • Disease Prevention: May help prevent diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers.
